VISTA Gardens and its Woodland Committee were honored on May 16 to receive the Golden Mangrove award from the Tampa Bay Estuary Program. TBEP’s Community Advisory Committee selected VISTA for this award based on the exceptional work and reporting of the Woodlands Restoration Project. This award is presented to the most outstanding project completed each year. VISTA Gardens thanks our members and our community volunteers for their dedication, commitment and energy on this terrifically successful project… and we especially thank the Tampa Bay Estuary Program’s Mini Grant program for the resources and support that allowed us to contribute to an appreciation and restoration of VISTA’s woodlands as a living laboratory.
